Kim Kyu Jong Discharged from the military

Photo Credit: Facebook SS501 My Brothers

Yeah!  Kim Kyu Jong...my bias...is out of the military after serving 2 years of his required duties.
A statement was released "Kim Kyu Jong was set to be discharged by 10 am KST today, but the discharge ceremony was held earlier than expeted... When Kim Kyu Jong stepped out of the Jeonbuk military manpower office, there were already around 100 fans waiting to greet him there and Kim Kyu Jong gave a short greeting and waved his hand to show his gratitude."

"Kim Kyu Jong has departed for his home in Jeonju and will spend time with his parents for a few days... He will then hold an official fan meeting to repay ffans for their support up until now."

He looks like he lost a lot of weight.  His face is so narrow.

Well, Jongie, get lots of rest at home.  Your fans have waited 2 years, we can wait a few more days to see you again.

By the way, I must have forgotten, I didn't realize Young Saeng was in the military.  When did that happen?

TVQX Spellbound Comeback

This is what I get for watching so much K-Dramas.  I haven't kept up with the comebacks.  Actually, it's been a while since any of my favorite groups been having any comebacks.  I think SM Entertainment have been focusing on EXO's promotions that the others have been put aside.  Now Super Junior and TVXQ are having comebacks, plus SNSD.  I missed TVXQ's first comeback this year.

Their first song Something and now Spellbound have the same style, very U.S. 20's style. Looking at Super Junior-M song Swing! and SNSD's Mr. Mr., those have the same style as well. I'm expecting SHINee to come out with a song similar to that genre.  I prefer Spellbound over Something.

I'm loving how they look in suits and slick hair.  I'm also getting use to just seeing Yunho and Changmin but I still prefer the 5.

Here's the video from SMTown's Youtube account:

Super Junior M - SWING comeback

Hey Suju fans! Super Junior - M is coming out with a 3rd Mini Album.  Their comeback song is Swing.  After watching the two Teasers, I was getting excited.

I'm loving how they look in their black suits.  Very clean and sharp.  They all look super cute and handsome.  I'm just not happy with Siwon's mustache.  I get why they did it but he doesn't look good.

Some songs it usually takes me a few times listening to it before I start to like the song, but I liked Swing from the start and that's only from watching the teaser.  I finally found the full MV and, yes, I still do like the song.

I also like the video and choreography.  It's very quick and fast. Funny too.

Here's the video.  Hopefully, SMTown with come out with a HD version of the video.

**UPDATE: I keep on finding better videos.  Here's one from SMTown youtube account.

Boys Before Friends - American Drama Remake

Okay, I know this isn't a Korean or Japanese Drama but it's a remake of the Japanese Manga Hana Yori Dango.  They remade Hana Yori Dango basically because the Korean version Boys Before Flowers was a huge success.

Now it's been years since I watched the Japanese version and the Korean version but I do remember liking the Japanese version the best, maybe because I saw it first.  I liked Rui Hanazawa, the actor who played him, Shun Oguri, was cute. The main girl, Makino Tsukushi, I think is cuter than the Korean Geum Jan Di.

In the Korean version, who could not like Yoon Jiho, played by Kim Hyun Joong? I ended up liking SS501 because of Kim Hyun Joong.  Also, I really liked So Yi-Jung, Kim Bum's character.  I thought he was the cutest of the whole group. Plus, Yi-Jung seemed like the nicest one of the whole group, maybe because he smiled alot.

This American version, changed the kids from high schoolers to college students in a performing arts graduate school. I'm okay with that but there were so many things wrong with just watching the first episode.

First, the main girl Zoey, I wish they played down her looks and not make her so sexy.  Her makeup was too packed on her face.  I think she is suppose to be the opposite of the students at the school.  Those girls look like they are dressed to go clubbing at a moments notice.  Plus, I think she suppose to be middle class or a bit poorer since she can't afford to go to this elite school.  I'm wondering, how does she and her friend afford that really nice big apartment they live in? I'm thinking, they should be living in a studio at least.

Second, Liam, the leader of F4.  I really don't like that ponytail that he has.  I don't get how that's an upper class hairstyle.  I can understand the curls on Gun Jun-Pyo since that's a status thing in Korea (even though I didn't like it).

Also, for such an elite school, with the best of everything, their dance studio is a small room with no mirrors. And it looks like she's the only dance student there.  I haven't seen any other student in that room practicing.

At the beginning of the episode, there were so many flashbacks and harsh cuts it was very confusing.  I couldn't tell who the characters were and what was going on or why the events were happening.  The only reason I figured out what was going on because I already knew the storyline.

The sets and the filming looks like it's one of those B movies.  Even the acting seems like one of those B horror movies.  The acting is stiff and it just sounds like they are just reading a script instead of acting.  The only thing that saves the B horror movies is that you can actually make fun when the killing starts. I don't think that's going to happen in this drama. =/

Some of the F4 bullying seems more violent than the Korean version, and the boys seems more mean but I think that's how they were in the Manga, although I didn't read the manga but that's what I heard.

This is only from watching the first episode.  I don't know if I'm willing to watch the next episode.  It was really painful watching the first episode.  I read that their budget cost is really low since it was funded by fans on the online crowdfunding Kickstarter so they can't improve on their sets but lets hope they improve on the acting and scripts.  I hope the ones that wrote the script researched how the characters are because this seems like any other American TV show instead of Boys Before Flowers.

Good luck to them. =/

Switch Girl, Season 1

I know most of the stuff we've been posting have been mostly Korean stuff but this time I wanted to write about a JDrama I recently finished watching.  It's called Switch Girl. It's an Aida Natsumi manga turned into a drama.

Synopsis:
Tamiya Nika is the switch girl.  She is the beautiful glamorous popular high schooler, during the school day.  But she has a secret life back home, she switches "off" into a complete mess.  She dresses in sweatsuits, glasses, no makeup, weird hairstyle, no manners when eating and farts. A complete slob.  She is the complete opposite of how she is in school.  Then she meets Arata, a transfer student and her life gets complicated.

This drama is super short, 8 episodes and about 30 minutes per episode.  It's a cute drama and it's like a live action anime.  The actress Nishiushi Mariya is really good going from beautiful to weird.  I wouldn't say ugly because she doesn't look ugly even at her worst but she does look like a weird awkward geek.  I love her over the top expressions, just like in an anime.

Nika lives with her parents and older sister (you never see the dad).  Her mom and sister are also switch girls.

Nika also has a best friend since kindergarten, Nino.  Nino is the only person in school who knows about Nika's switch off.  It's actually during their lunch breaks on the school's rooftop that Nika switch off with Nino.

There is also the Boss Monkey, Nika's rival in school.  Boss Monkey, use to be the most popular and beautiful one in school until Nika transferred into that school and that's when she lost her status from number one to number two, which she hates.

Then there's Arata played by Kiriyama Renn.  He's the quiet transfer student that doesn't want to be bothered by anyone.  He wears these "coke" bottle glasses to looks nerdy.  He's also very smart.  Without his glasses, he's really cute.  He actually reminds me of Yamapi. His hair style and even the way he acts.

If you can catch Switch Girl, it's worth watching. It's funny and over the top acting like anime.

There's Season 2 as well.  I haven't watched that yet.

Dongho from U-Kiss leaving group?

I read from asia247.wordpress.com that Dongho from U-Kiss is leaving the group because his "...determination about being active as a celebrity weakened." Also, he has health reasons.

NH Media made this announcement:

Dongho will be absent from team promotions starting withU-KISS’ new album which will be released this month, and he will be putting a hold on his activities as a celebrity…Starting from the beginning of this year,Dongho’s determination about being active as a celebrity weakened, and he has revealed that he doesn’t believe his health condition and stamina fit well with the life of a singer… After a long discussion with his parents, we have decided to accept their decision…Dongho expressed that he wanted to live a normal life rather than that of a celebrity…Although the decision of Dongho’s leave from the group is one that causes harm to the team’s activities, the members have all decided to accept this change as well… Although we feel burdened by the empty spot, the group will release a new album as scheduled as six members.”

He is the third member to leave the group. Alexander and Kibum had left in 2011.

He is actually the only member of U-Kiss I know because of the variety show, Maknae Rebellion years ago.  He was also on Raising Idol.  He was trying to learn how to speak English.  He was kind of cute, but I've only watched Key's portion of the show.  I've only liked the song Man Man Ha Ni.  And I haven't gotten really into U-Kiss that much.  It's too bad when a member leaves.  The group isn't the same when they do.

Well, good luck to Dongho. All the best for him.  Hope he comes back, he was pretty funny in variety shows.

Super Junior's Japanese Comeback - HERO

Photo: onehallyu.com/

Yea! Super Junior comeback! At least in Japan.  They came out with their first full Japanese Album on July 24th.  The first song released is Hero.  I love the song, especially since Eunhyuk starts off the song rapping in English.

A few notations regarding the MV: 1 - Kangin slimmed down a lot.  At times it's hard to recognize him.  2 - I'm glad they toned down Ryeowook's purple hair.  It's more white than purple/blue.  (Currently his hair is black since he's in the High School Musical).  3 - Eunhyuk's hair got slighty bright red and he looks skinner.  4 - I don't like Siwon's patterned suit. It's not only on the jacket but shirt and pants as well.

Right now you can't really find the MV easily.  Seems like the Japanese music companies don't want anyone outside of Japan listening to any of "their" music.  Other than Japan's EMI Music, who has a YouTube account, I couldn't find any official site to watch any japanese music videos.  I would think SM Entertainment would be annoyed that they won't promote Super Juniors' Japanese Album outside of Japan.  I would like it on iTunes or Amazon.com like the Korean songs.

I won't upload a video here since someone my trace it back to the account and force them to take it down.  Listen to it, I love the song.  Here's a song list from their album.  If anyone finds the CD or song please let me know, I would love to get it.

Super Junior Hawaii Experience

Eunhyuk on the beach =D
Photo: @sanjinamarie

Super Junior left Hawaii on July 15th. Well, most of them left on the 15th.  Eunhyuk left on the 17th.  For their brief stay in Hawaii they left a very big impression, not only on me, but a lot of K-pop fans who rarely see any big name K-pop idols in Hawaii.

When I heard that they had arrived on the island of Oahu, you can't imagine my excitement. Usually I hear that SMtown travels to New York or California, if they decide to travel to the U.S.  I'm always stunned that I don't hear them stopping over in Hawaii for refueling before continuing on back to Korea.  Why not???

In any case, they had arrived and stayed to do a photo shoot.  Coincidentally it's at the same time as the Korean Festival.  I thought they were going to perform there but sadly no.

During their time here so many fancams were uploaded to show where they were and what they were doing.  In the past, there were photos of them all clothed and if there were glimpses of their chest or bellies peeking from under their shirts fans would go crazy and I have to admit, me too.  But while they were here somehow it didn't seem strange that they were practically half naked on the beach surfing, tanning or relaxing.  I thought it was normal and didn't think anything of it.  All I kept on thinking was "YIKES! Some of them are getting pink.  Why isn't someone telling them to put on sunscreen?"  "Hope someone is giving them Tylenol and aloe to ease the pain if they felt any after being in the sun so long."  Kangin looked super red in one of the skateboarding pics.

My only brief sighting was on a Tuesday.  All the pics of Suju returning to Korea didn't have Eunhyuk in them.  People were saying there was one missing.  Yea! It looked like it was my bias, Eunhyuk.  I had to go down to the hotel to see if I could get a glimpse of Eunhyuk.

After work, Chai, my partner in crime, and I decided to see if he was actually still at the hotel.  I only had 2 hours before I had to be somewhere else.  We had gotten to the hotel and it didn't look like there were any fans hanging around.  We decided to wander back towards the beach and looked around.  Nothing.  Then back to the front of the hotel and hung out there.  We had heard that Eunhyuk was still there and had gone out in a silver car.  As we waited, I kept on looking at the time.  I was getting nervous because I needed to leave already.  Next thing I knew a car pulled up and I glanced at the passengers.  I notice the hair and thought "Is that him?!?"  As he walked by with the Prince Manager and someone else, my brain slowly decided "TAKE A PICTURE!"

Ugh! The delay between pressing the button and the click of the camera was too long.  Someone had walked between Eunhyuk and me as my camera snapped.  Sadly, I only got a bit of Eunhyuk's head in my pic. T_T

They had walked into the hotel and I was going to follow but stopped.  I didn't know if I was going to be too intrusive or not.  We had decided to leave.  Sigh...I would have wanted a picture with him.  In hindsight, I wish I was bolder and had followed and asked for a picture with him or  at least a hug.  Oh well, at least I have a memory of seeing him close up and in person, however briefly.  It was fate that my bias had stayed a day longer, hopefully so I could see him (haha).  I hope he comes back, so I could really get a photo with him.  Kyuhyun too.
=)

Eunhyuk on the right, this is what he was wearing when I saw him. =)

I hope that they had enjoyed their stay here, however, short and hopefully return.  I have high hopes that the rumors would be true and Suju would be coming back to Hawaii.

Super Juniors in Hawaii!

Photo copyrighted by: JosephLibby.com

AHHHH! Can I get anymore excited?!?  Super Junior is here on Oahu!  First Daniel Henney comes to Hawaii in 2012 for HIFF and I get to meet him. Now, miracles of all miracles, Super Junior DongHae and Siwon are on Oahu.

Well, at first it seems like it's only DongHae and Siwon.  But looking at the photo above, it looks like Shindong (in yellow) and Sungmin (see below) is here too.

Korean Drama Hawaii's Facebook stated that they are here for a photo shoot.  Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk  and Ryeowook will be arriving on Oahu either Friday or this coming weekend. Hopefully, visit the Korean Festival while they are here.

I don't know how long they will be here but hopefully long enough for me to catch a glimpse of them. =)

Enjoy the Hawaii sun boys.

Super Junior Cruising in Hawaii!

Green Tea will probably have more to add to this, she's so extremely excited, but tweets from members themselves and confirmed by local sources show that members of the K-Pop group, Super Junior, are here in Hawaii!

Donghae uploaded a video to YouTube, which was also uploaded by SM Entertainment on July 11th.

Siwon also tweeted a photo of the view of the sunset from Waikiki Beach and tweeted the morning of July 11th that he was enjoying an espresso from one of the two major coffee companies on Oahu, Honolulu Coffee Company. We couldn't tell which one, but we know all of the Honolulu Companies are in Downtown or Waikiki.

What they are in town for, one can only assume that it's for the Korean Festival happening this weekend at Kapiolani Park! UPDATE: They are in town for a photo shoot. =)

A big welcome and aloha to SuJu! Welcome to our lovely state!

FT Island's Song Seung Hyun Seen Sporting a Ring

FT Island Performing "I Hope You'll Be My Bride" (to the tune of "We Hope to Be Lovers") at the "wedding" of vocalist Lee Hong Ki to actress Fujii Mina

In a previous post, I mentioned that FT Island's maknae had confessed that he was in a relationship.

Now, I hope I'm not starting a rumor, but recently, I had seen him sporting a very simple gold band....on his right hand. Haha, thought that I was gonna say "left"?

Most jewelry on idols nowadays range from as simple as a necklace or bracelets to something outlandish as spiked headbands. (I'm definitely thinking of Hong Ki as I'm writing this.) But nothing speaks more or is more noticeable than a 반지 (panji/ring).

There it is! Can you see it??

During the 8th episode of the reality couple show, "We Got Married Global", you can see Seung Hyun with a ring on his right ring finger. Aww, could this be a tribute to his "significant other"? One can surely hope so.

So sweet Seung Hyun!

FT Island's Song Seung Hyun the Musketeer!

Song Seung Hyun as the Young d'Artagnan

En garde! And prepare to defend yourself against the charms of FT Island's maknae, Song Seung Hyun as he embarks on his newest musical, "The Three Musketeers".

Japan will be re-booting this classic onstage and Seung Hyun has been cast as one of the leads playing the young swashbuckler d'Artagnan August 8th through 24th.

Song Seung Hyun is showing that he has more than just guitar playing skills. He's surprised fans, including myself, with his sweet singing voice and his acting skills. He finished promotions for his last musical, "Jack the Ripper" earlier this year and it seems like he is on the rise as a musical star. Looking forward to hearing only great things about him!

Don't forget to parry Seung Hyun!

FT Island and CNBlue Invited to Summer Sonic 2013

CNBlue (top): Jung Shin, Jong Hyun, Yong Hwa, Min Hyuk
FT Island (bottom): Seung Hyun, Jae Jin, Min Hwan, Hong Ki and Jong Hun

Summer Sonic. One of the biggest concerts of the summer. And FNC Entertainment groups CNBlue and FT Island have been selected as the South Korean representatives to perform at the Summer Sonic concert in Japan on August 10th and August 11th.

These two groups are actively promoting their own concerts and tours. CNBlue is currently on their "world" "Blue Moon" tour and FT Island has just released another Japanese album and are promoting their "Freedom" and "Take FT Island" tours this summer. And this is only the top of their busy schedules as they are all in the midst of their own individual activities. CNBlue's Jong Hyun will be promoting a new drama (rumour has it), FT Island's Lee Hong Ki just wrapped up his new movie, "Passionate Goodbye" and reality TV show, "We Got Married Global". FT Island's bassist, Lee Jaejin, is currently promoting his new musical, "High School Musical" and guitarist Song Seung Hyun has recently been cast in yet another musical, Japan's version of "The Three Musketeers"!

But, as they say, they have to strike it while it's hot to have snatched up this opportunity! This is quite an honor since they will be performing with a lineup of superstars such as Muse (A favorite of FT Island's Jong Hun), Linkin Park and rock/metal legend, Metallica.

You can start searching for Summer Sonic tickets here. But be forewarned, the July 11th show is already sold out. Good luck!

FT Island On Seven City Japan Summer Tour

FT Island (l to r): Song Seung Hyun, Lee Jaejin, Choi Minhwan, Lee Hong Ki and Choi Jong Hun

If I lived in Japan, I would be extremely excited. But since I don't, I'm just excited and I must admit a little bit jealous of fans in Japan!

Korean K-PopRock group FT Island has begun their Japan promotions for their "FREEDOM" tour in Japan. Their seven city tour will also include cities that they haven't visited before and they seem super excited.

They say they will be showing off different genres and not just the "flower rock" they've become to be known for. What is "flower rock"? I know they have a song titled "Flower Rock". Anyone? Anyone? Songs off of their newly released Japanese album will be performed including the title track "Freedom", "Orange Sky" by Lee Hong Ki and "Hold My Hand" by leader Choi Jong Hun.

It seems though that the weather is not cooperating with them. FT Island vocalist Lee Hong Ki tweeted this afternoon that it is raining! Oh no! Those fans in Japan better get some slickers and umbrellas!

Following this tour, FT Island will go on tour promoting their "Take FT Island" concerts in the late summer. Tours upon appearances and musicals for members Lee Jaejin, Song Seung Hyun and Choi Minhwan, this band is really keeping busy!

On another note, CNBlue fans in the Philippines are welcoming FT Island's label mate over there for a stop on their tour! (Double jealous!)

Eyes On FT Island's Lee Jaejin in New Musical

FT Island Bassist and Vocalist Lee Jaejin in Korean version of High School Musical.

Lee Jaejin is working hard to tone his singing, acting and basketball skills in his new musical, "High School Musical". He has been cast in the male lead as "Troy". His label mate, and AoA member ChoA, has been cast in the female lead as "Gabriella".

If this is anything like the American version, High School Musical is about a group of teenagers trying to find a place for themselves in their school and personal lives. For instance, Jaejin's character, Troy, is an all-star basketball player who seems a shoe in into a great basketball school with full scholarship. ChoA's character Gabriella is a sweet kind of nerdy girl who is very shy. When they meet, they find a common bond between them, music. Their bond helps to break down all the social perceptions between cliques at their school, bringing everyone closer. It's a real feel good musical with great music. My favorite songs (personally) were: "Start of Something New" and "Breaking Free". Hmm...I feel like singing those now!

During it's run in the U.S., Disney made a killing on the soundtrack, apparel, spinoffs (into two other movies), toys and memorabilia. The original movie skyrocketed then real life sweethearts, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, into fame and mainstream culture.

From what I can see, they have all the essentials for a success here. Cute leads and from what I've read from different sources, they've kept some, if not all, of the original songs from the original movie. What I want to know is... can Jaejin dance?? FT Island members are known for their looks and their singing and playing abilities, but not their dancing!

All I can say is that Jaejin's voice is perfect for the role of "Troy". His sweet mid-tone range is sure to make any girl swoon. Jaejin, hwaiting! Saranghaeyo!

The musical will premiere on July 2nd at the Blue Square Samsung Card Hall in Seoul and will run till the 1st of September.

Cheer Up, Mr. Kim! Drama

Photo: hancinema.net

I've started watching this drama in March and it's June now.  I'm done with episode 90 and I'm stuck and can't watch anymore since I'm waiting for the english subs.  I don't mind the little break since I was doing the marathon drama watching, at least 4 episodes per night.  Each episode is approximately 30 minutes long.  There was a 2 week break because I had to wait for episodes 80-90 to be uploaded with english subs.  I do hope the subbers continue to sub this drama and not leave a bunch of us hanging without any closure.  I can wait as long as eventually it gets done.  I heard that there are not much subbers now to sub all the ShinHwa shows since their comeback.

This "family" drama is finished in Korea.  I thought there were only 113 episodes but in searching around the net, I found out that this is 124 episodes long.  Wow.  Based on the ratings, majority of the episodes has been number one.  Kim Dongwan had won the 2012 KBS Drama Award for Excellent Actor (Drama Series). By the way, what they call a family drama doesn't mean the whole family can watch this.  I think they mean that it has family situations, so the young kids may not enjoy this drama as much as the older viewers.

To summarize the drama.  Kim Dongwan plays a single guy, Kim Tae Pyung, who cleans apartments. He had taken a job as a housekeeper since he couldn't get anymore jobs to clean apartments.  He is also a guardian of four children, none of which are his.  He spends most of his life struggling to take care of the children, to the neglect of his own life.  So now you see him in his thirties balancing the children, his job and dating, which he never experience before since he was struggling to support the children.

The four children in his care are Tae Pyung's niece, Hee Rae, a high schooler who was abandon by his brother's wife after she gave birth to Hee Rae. Tae Pyung's brother has already died in an accident by the time the Tae Pyung's sister-in-law gave birth.  Song Ah, the youngest girl, was given to Tae Pyung to care for since Song Ah's parents are struggling to make ends meet. Chul Ryong, a North Korean college student and the eldest, is looking for his brother who, I think, defected to South Korea.  Their parents had died because Chul Ryong's brother left North Korea.  The three kids were already in Tae Pyung's care when the drama first starts.  Later in the drama, Tae Pyung ends up caring for Joo Sung, a high schooler and the same age as Hee Rae and also in the same homeroom class in school.

Although this drama is suppose to be mainly about Mr Kim and his struggles, the main story line is about Hong Hae Sook, a mother who is trying to take over control of Healing Water. Healing Water is a company that her husband was the CEO but had to step down because of health reasons.  When he was ailing, Hae Sook took care of running the company until her husband could return but he ended up being too sick to work again.  Her husband Boo Jang wanted his son Gun Wook, who was studying in America for years, to take over the CEO position.  Hae Sook wants the CEO position and both Boo Jang / Gun Wook, who returns to Korea, tries every way to take that position away from her.

The women in Tae Pyung's life are Ji Young who lives downstairs with her family in the same home that Tae Pyung family moves into.  Ji Young, a divorcee, always liked  Tae Pyung when they were young.  Ji Young is also the daughter of Tae Pyung's mentor, Kyeong Sool who lives with Ji Young.  There is also, Woo Kyeong a homeroom and PE teacher at the school Hee Rae goes to. Ji Young is also the school's nurse at the same school.

Just a warning, from the beginning, it seems as though the acting is very stiff with the actors.  What I found funny was it's the kids in the drama that seems to act more naturally than the adults. They have more range of emotions and doesn't seem like they are acting.  The other actors usually  look awkward with each other or very monotone in their acting. They always seem to have the same expression throughout the drama.

Up to episode 90, I find Tae Pyung to be very likable and not irritating, unlike the other characters.  I get so annoyed by some of the things the other characters do it's so frustrating.  In reality, it would be so nice to have a guy who can clean, cook and take care of the kids without complaining but just do it because it needs to be done.  He has his pride but it is overridden by the  fact that he needs to care for his kids.  So being a housekeeper, normally a "woman's" job, isn't something that he would look down on.  He has told others, who questions his choice of "career" and looks down on him, that it's a job that pays.  As long as he does a good job he's not ashamed of it. You can tell he takes pride in his work but also wished he was more educated and has a better job.  Also, I do like how he handles himself in a crisis.  He will get upset but he does try to think logically.  A few times he does let his emotions decide on his choices but you see his struggle in trying to do his best.

I won't do a episode by episode description of this drama like how I did The Romantic and The Idol but I'll tell you my opinion of each character in another blog, unless someone wants me to write about this drama, I will. Hmmm...this is getting long.

Watch Cheer up! Mr Kim if you can. If anyone knows where I can watch the remaining 91+ episode subbed let me know.  I'm dying to know what happens, it's getting exciting now.

Shinhwa's comeback This Love

They are back! I haven't posted any of their teaser MV or photos but here's their full video for This Love.  I prefer just listening to the song than watching their video.  I have a few complaints about the video.

First, I just don't like the whole jacket matching slacks when the jacket is patterned.  Patterned pants is just not good, solid colors are better.

Next, I wish the stylist would stop slicking back Eric's hair.  Even in the Venus comeback they slicked his hair in a weird style.  Either just mousse it or slightly spike it, he actually looks good in his more natural hairstyle.  He looks like a pimp with slick hair and some of the dance movements isn't helping either.

I kinda like that they toned down Junjin's platinum blonde hair to a darker shade.  I personally do not like Asian with platinum blonde hair.  Blonde Asian are weird looking, platinum blond is just bizarre.  I haven't seen a platinum blonde Asian Idol that ever looked good.  It has to be a darker shade.  Hyesung's hair looks good on him, it's closer to a brown shade.  Junjin looks cuter with black hair.

Then there's the choreography.  I'm no professional dancer but I know what I like.  Now, in the video when I was watching it several times, some of the movements seemed kind of feminine.  Minwoo seems a bit feminine at the beginning. What's strange is I watched their live performance on Mcountdown and it looked alright. Minwoo's body wave seems a bit feminine in the video but sexier in the live performance.  Odd.

Then there's Andy and Dongwan.  I have no complaints about them.  Andy still looks like Zombie. I think they have tone down his burgundy highlights, it's nicer.  Dongwan, he never seem to not look good, well, except for the Yo! song.  I think they had to go really extreme to make him look weird because he always looks wonderful.  I know people say Eric is the best looking one in the group but I think it's Dongwan.  Hmmm...a little bias.

One more thing.  They don't really say This Love.  It sounds more like Dis Love.  At least they don't sing Dis Lob.  Other groups, I've heard them singing lob instead of love.  Oh well, no one is perfect.

The most important thing is that I love the song.  I need to get it.  I lost track of how many times I   pressed replay on YouTube while typing this.  I think I'm getting obsessed again.

Here's the video.

Shinhwa 11th Album 'The Classic' release

Woohoo!  A new album from Shinhwa!

Release date is May 16th.

Here's a link to their teaser 'The Classic' Grand Tour'. I couldn't get the video to load here but the link will also have their concert schedule.  If you click on the Album tab on the site it will give you their Album's track list.  It's mostly in Korean.

I haven't seen any of their song releases.  I've been so busy watching the daily drama Cheer Up Mr Kim, I pretty much ignored everything else that was going on.  In any case, I thought they would release a single before their album release but I can't find any.  I can't wait for their songs to be released because I'm running out of songs to listen too.

Actually, I wish they would release T.O.P., Perfect Man and Wild Eyes on Amazon.com.  I  can't find those songs anywhere other than YouTube.  I'm getting obsessed with T.O.P. but I can't play it on my iPod over and over since I don't have the song.  My record for listening to a Shinhwa song or for any song is 100 plays in a couple of day.  I couldn't stop listening to Venus and had kept it on repeat.
